1. ORDERS

1.1 Purchase of products

When you order a Product from our website you are offering to buy it at the price stated, subject to these terms. We will take all reasonable care to ensure that all details, descriptions and prices of products appearing on the Website are correct at the time when the relevant information were entered onto the system.

We reserve the right to refuse an order. Non-acceptance of an order may, for example, result from one of the following:

  • The product ordered being unavailable from stock
  • Our inability to obtain authorisation of payment
  • The identification of an error within the product information, including price or promotion

Any pending orders that are not paid for within 14 days of placement will automatically be deleted from our system and will have to be placed again should you wish to proceed with the purchase.

1.2 Prices

Prices displayed on the Site are shown in Rand. Prices are subject to change at any time.

Deliveries will be charged in addition to the price of the products. For very precious items, we may ask you to pay an extra fee, to cover the specific shipping cost.

1.3 Delivery

We cannot be held responsible for an incorrect address being entered while ordering on our website. If you complete your order and then notice that the address details are incorrect, please contact us immediately: info@jbjd.co.za

We will supply all goods to the delivery company in good order. You may request for us to take a picture which will be taken with your invoice, of your items before they are sealed in their final packaging, but cannot ensure that the goods arrive at your chosen delivery address in the same good order and thus do not take responsibility for damage to items during transit.

All courier charges do include insurance (up to the value of R7000). We will not be held responsible to any loss or theft of items once it has been handed over to the delivery company.

*Please note that we cannot ship to P.O Boxes and Postnet Suites.

1.4 Order acceptance and cancellation

Your receipt of an electronic or other form of order confirmation does not signify our acceptance of your order, nor does it constitute confirmation of our offer to sell. We reserve the right at any time after receipt of your order to accept, decline, or limit your order for any reason, whether or not your credit card has been charged. If your credit card has been charged and your order is cancelled, you will receive a refund.

Once an order has been placed, it cannot be cancelled unless the shipment is unavoidably delayed. In this case, we will do our best to cancel the order if requested.

  1. PAYMENT

2.1 Payment options

Janine Binneman Jewellery accepts payment via EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer), SiD (Instant EFT), Snapscan and Credit Card.  For EFT’s received for international orders, all bank charges are for the clients account.

Upon receiving your Order we carry out a standard pre-authorisation check on your payment card to ensure there are sufficient funds to fulfill the transaction. Orders will not be manufactured and Goods will not be dispatched until this pre-authorisation check has been completed. If the issuer of your payment card refuses to, or does not authorise payment for any reason, then you will be notified of this immediately prior to completing your purchase using the Site at the check-out stage. Your card will be debited once the order has been accepted.

We are not able to look for payments on our bank statement – therefore we require you to email us your proof of payment.

Orders will remain on hold until we receive an emailed proof of payment (we cannot be held liable for any delays in orders being completed if proof of payment is not sent).

We do not accept lay buys.

2.2. Customs duties

You may also be liable for any customs and import duties, quotas, permits, product restrictions and other local requirements. These charges must be paid by the recipient of the parcel. Customs policies vary widely from state to state and country to country. Therefore we suggest that you check the requirements in your country before placing an order. We will not be liable for any customs or import duties.

  1. CHANGES IN PRODUCTS AND PRICING

We are constantly updating and revising our offerings of products, and we may discontinue products at any time without notice. All pricing for our products is subject to change. For all of our prices and products, we reserve the right to make adjustments due to changing market conditions, currency fluctuations, product discontinuation, manufacturer price changes, errors in advertisements, and other extenuating circumstances.

  1. MANUFACTURING AND SHIPPING POLICY

We aim to process your order within 72 hours of it being placed. Please allow for 4-6 weeks for manufacturing, from date of receipt of payment.

Orders can be fast tracked at an additional fee of R250.

Janine Binneman Jewellery only ships orders Monday to Friday, during office hours, and does not operate on public holidays.

Once an order has been registered, payment accepted and order shipped, it is in the courier service. We are not liable for any errors made by these services.

Once you have received your parcel, please open it with care. Janine Binneman Jewellery is not liable for any items damaged during the opening of your parcel. Any guarantees or representations made as to delivery times are subject to any delays resulting from postal delays or force majeure for which we will not be responsible.

Metals

Our jewellery is made from sterling silver, gold plated sterling silver, 9ct & 18ct Gold and Platinum. Sterling silver in SA is 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper. Metals naturally develop a surface patina over time, caused by oxygen, perfumes and skin acidity. Some people also have more acidic skin than others, and therefore the oxidation can occur at a more rapid pace. Silver jewellery will also develop a patina if it is not worn regularly.

A soft cloth and some Handy Andy cream can be used to clean most pieces of jewellery, with the exception of pearls, opals and emeralds.

Gold plating is not permanent, as it is a thin layer of metal coating the sterling silver. It does wear off over time, depending on how often the piece is worn and can be affected by chemicals such as chlorine, detergents and general day to day wear. Plating can also be affected by skin acidity – shortening the life span of the coating. The piece will then go back to looking silver and can be re-plated anytime.

Stones

All stones used by Janine Binneman Jewellery are ethically sourced. As our stones are naturally formed and hand cut there can be slight variations with colour and shape, making each stone unique.

Stones will therefore vary slightly from the images used on product pages.

Handmade

All Janine Binneman Jewellery pieces are locally handmade; we use quality materials and take care in our manufacturing. Please allow for slight variations in shapes and sizes. We do try our best to be accurate. Please note that each gemstone is unique.

Photographs

We take photographs of all pieces that are manufactured and sent out. We reserve the right to use these in advertisements on our Pages, as well as sending them to the media.

Further to this, photographs serve to document the state in which the items leave our studio and what size we made them – especially when the items are rings.

  1. ADVERTISING DISCLAIMER AND TRADEMARKS

We attempt to be as accurate as possible with Product descriptions and prices. However, we do not warrant that Product descriptions or prices are accurate. In the event that a Product is listed at an incorrect price or with incorrect information due to typographical error or error in pricing or Product information received from our suppliers and brands, we shall have the right to refuse or cancel any orders placed for Products listed at the incorrect price. We shall have the right to refuse or cancel any such orders whether or not the order has been confirmed and your credit card has been charged. If your credit card has already been charged for the purchase and your order is cancelled, we shall immediately issue a credit to your credit card account in the amount of the charge. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may return it in accordance with our Return Policy, as set forth below.

  1. RETURN & EXCHANGE POLICY

6.1 Return Policy

We want all of our customers to be happy with purchases made at Janine Binneman Jewellery. However, if you receive any products that you are unhappy with, you may contact us within 2 weeks of receiving it and we will offer you a store credit of the item. The purchase price is the amount you paid for the product and does not include any delivery costs.

All products are returnable, excluding:

  • Special Orders
  • Custom-Made Jewellery (Personalised pieces)
  • Earrings (for hygiene reasons) and
  • All Products bought on sale

Products returned must be unused, unworn, and undamaged. We shall have no obligation to accept any return that we receive after the expiration of the applicable return period (2 weeks after receipt of your parcel). Please ensure when returning the parcel that the Products are properly protected.

6.2 Exchange policy

If you wish to exchange a product, you will be given a store credit that you will be able to use towards your next order. Please be aware that any purchases made with store credits are processed as a new order and standard postage costs and delivery times will apply.

You are responsible for postage costs of returning the item. We recommend using registered mail or Postnet to return items, as we are not liable for any items lost in the post.

All products are exchangeable, excluding:

  • All Products bought on sale
